Effective October 9, 2026

Everything Laurier operates a student app for life around Laurier Waterloo and this information website. For privacy questions, contact everythinglaurier@gmail.com.

What we collect and why

You can browse public campus information without an account. When you sign in, we use your email address to send a verification code and maintain your account. Our authentication provider stores an account identifier, session information, and ordinary connection information such as IP address and user agent to provide and secure sign-in.

Student profiles store the name and program you enter, plus your optional year of study and introduction. Profiles are private by default. If you turn on discovery, your profile is reviewed before publication. Once approved, signed-in students can see your name, program, optional year and introduction, and verified email address. You can turn discovery off in Your space → Edit your profile. Previously received or copied information may remain with its recipients.

Searching the student directory sends your program search to our database service so it can return relevant results. Search requests can appear in operational logs; we do not maintain a separate personal search-history feature.

Venue line reports privately store your account identifier, chosen venue, selected wait estimate, nightlife date, and submission time. Other users see aggregate estimates. A venue choice is not a reading of your device location.

Content reports store your account identifier, the reported profile or post, a selected reason, time, and review status so we can investigate abuse. Profile blocks store the account identifiers involved and the blocked profile’s name at the time of blocking, so blocked profiles can be excluded and managed. Operators with database administration access can review reported content and restrict abusive accounts.

Bookmarks, hidden feed sources and your 19-or-older nightlife choice stay in device storage. We do not collect your date of birth. A pending sign-in request stores your email and resend timer locally. Native sign-in credentials use secure device credential storage; the web version uses browser storage for its session. We do not upload local bookmarks or hidden-source preferences to our account database.

Services that process information

Supabase provides authentication, the database and server functions. The current database is hosted in the United States (US West); information may be processed outside Canada.

Resend delivers sign-in emails and processes the recipient address, verification-email content and delivery information. We use these emails for account access, not marketing.

Apify retrieves selected venues’ public Instagram posts for a shared feed. We do not send your account, profile or line reports to Apify. Imported content is reviewed before being shown in the app.

Displaying Instagram-hosted media makes a network request to its hosting service, which receives your IP address and normal connection details. Opening Instagram, venue websites, maps or campus resources takes you to another service with its own privacy terms. See Meta’s privacy policy.

This website is hosted through Sites on Cloudflare infrastructure. The hosting service processes ordinary request information to deliver and secure pages. This website has no account forms, advertising analytics or tracking cookies. Email links open your own email application; sending an email shares its contents and sender details with our support inbox and email provider.

Permissions and tracking

We do not sell your account or profile information, include advertising tracking, access an advertising identifier, or send account/profile information to third-party AI or language models. The current app does not request access to your camera, photo library, precise device location, microphone, contacts, Bluetooth or Face ID.

Retention and security

Account data travels over HTTPS. Authentication and database access policies restrict profile access and keep individual line reports and moderation records out of the public client API. No online system can eliminate every security risk.

We keep your live account and profile until you delete your account. Line reports stop contributing to estimates after 90 minutes and are removed when their nightlife date is more than seven days old, by a cleanup job scheduled every five minutes. Moderation reports and blocks are linked to accounts and are removed from our live database when the associated accounts are deleted. Reports about deleted posts are removed when those posts are removed.

Local preferences remain until you change or clear them, remove app data, or delete your account on that device. Support correspondence is retained while needed to resolve your request, handle follow-up concerns and meet applicable obligations; contact us to request its deletion.

Service providers may retain limited operational/security logs and backup copies after live deletion. Retention depends on the provider’s service settings and contractual requirements. These copies are protected, expire through provider retention processes, and are not used to recreate deleted accounts for ordinary app use. Contact us for help with a specific retention or erasure request. We will assess any legal preservation requirement and explain any limit that applies.

Delete your account and exercise your choices

Open Your space → Delete account in the app and confirm. Successful deletion immediately removes the live authentication account, student profile, private line reports, linked moderation reports and profile blocks, updates line estimates, revokes sign-in sessions, and clears local bookmarks, hidden-source preferences and the nightlife age choice on that device. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Bookmarks and preferences on other devices are independent; clear them on those devices. Information already copied by others cannot be recalled. If you cannot access the app, contact everythinglaurier@gmail.com for help. We may need to verify account ownership before acting on a request.

You can browse as a guest, edit your profile, turn discovery off, block profiles or hide sources, and report content. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of personal information, or to raise a privacy concern.

Age-appropriate use and changes

The app is intended for university students. Venue admission and alcohol laws apply independently of app access. Do not use the app to arrange unlawful or underage alcohol consumption. The app is not an emergency service.

We update this policy when our practices change and show the effective date here. If a new use requires consent, we will request permission before it begins.
